Papa

this past weekend, we got to see my g'rents. they are the cutest things ever. my dad was telling us something that Papa used to say:
"all we have is time."
this is so Papa! i wish everyone could know this man. he sure has lived, learned, and loved (sorry for being cliche). i think he's hilarious and he's taught me so much about patience. Papa doesn't do anything fast; he lives a very slow paced life. when he speaks, he doesn't rush his words. i love this about him. he always says the right thing at the right time. he loves to read. you could get him a new book and he'd read it in a day. i love his desire to learn. he loves to play chess and checkers. we used to always play and he would always try to let me win, but i'm so bad that it was way too easy for him to beat me. Papa is so great at letting me know that he is proud of me. whenever i accomplish something small, like getting an A on a test, he lets me know how proud of me he is. he makes me feel like i could do anything. he loves his family, which is evident just on the look on his face when you look at him. i know him as Papa, others call him James or Jim. whenever we go visit them, everyone we pass says, "hey Jim, how ya doin'?" Mema and Papa are quite popular at Kirby Pines. here's a picture of Mema; she deserves a whole post to herself, that will come later.
i love this picture; this is Papa's sweet hands. these hands used to pick me up and swing me around when i was little.
Papa, thanks for teaching me so much that i cant even type it all out. thanks for your constant outpouring of love you've always shown me. and thanks for your laugh; i love it when you laugh.

have a joyful day!
