today, we got a tour of the Palace. the Chigi (key-gee) family lived here. it was recently painted and really does look beautiful. Bernini (a famous Baroque artist) wanted to paint the palace blue so that it reflects the sky. pretty cool. here are my memories from today:

my home for the next 3 months

don't know what i'd do without you
this is the Chigi family's "bird cage". they said there used to be a huge net over the top, connected through the arches. i think i could deal with a bird cage like that.
not sure what this is, it was in the Chigi family's garden. but it is pretty incredible
gorgeous

this is a Sequoia tree. it was a gift given to the Chigi's in the 1800's, if not before that. Sequoia trees do not grow in this area, so it is very rare. #prettyneat
just like in this picture, with the sun slightly revealing itself, i feel this is the way the Lord is towards me lately. He is slowing revealing His beauty more and more to me. i hope to become blinded completely by His beauty. He is a jealous God, desiring for us to desire him and for us to marvel at Him and what He has created. from being here all of two days, i am only seeing a glimpse. i cant wait to see what else is in store...
after our tour, we went to the supermarket. it really isnt much different from an American one, other than it's smaller. everything is smaller: cars, food portions, people, supermarkets, etc. but i like it. tonight at dinner, we went to a local place called "ostaria" (sp?). it was great; they couldnt understand us and we couldnt understand them. our female waitress gave up and got a male waiter who spoke little english. he asked us, "you like cheese and bacon?" we just laughed and laughed.. he ended up just ordering something for us and we all got pasta. i had a homemade tomato sauce with what appeared to be homemade noodles. boy, was it good. i think i could eat like this for a while.
on that note, i'm off to catch a few before tomorrow's adventure.
over and out
