Happy Birthday Jay!

This weekend, I have been in Knoxville, TN visiting one of my favorite people (pictures from the weekend to follow). Yes, Jay Snyder's birthday is today. He is amazing and if you don't know him, you are missing out on a great person. He literally lights up a room when he walks in... and not just because he's so cute, but his personality is just electrifying! While I don't remember the first time we met in 2007, it didn't stop me from wanting to find out more about this guy. We began texting and he would take me to church on Wednesday nights. Of course, I thought it was platonic and nothing more. Little did I know, Jay was beginning to have feelings for me.
It didn't take me long to realize what a great guy he was! He has a heart that is solely focused on the Lord. Since I had never met a guy who loved God this much, it really confused me, to be honest. But I was intrigued! I would watch him at church on Wednesdays, worshipping and interacting with everyone there. He seemed to know everyone there which was cool to me because I knew maybe 10 people. So, I was getting picked up by this guy cool, older, MUS guy at church who was basically "the man". Not gonna lie, I was feeling pretty cool. Anyways, it took him about 6 months to ask me out after we met. We went to dinner and watched a movie (not gonna say what movie). After that, I realized how I had begun having feelings for this guy. He was charming, cute, funny, and loved the Lord. The real deal.
So he asked me to be his girlfriend on New Year's day and we dated for a few months and it was so fun! I loved being with him; he made me laugh a lot. However, in April, I broke things off. Don't ask why because looking back, I have no idea; I'm an idiot. We didn't really talk for a few months. He didn't called anymore, didn't text. I should have expected that one. We both sort of dated other people that summer and that fall. But that fall, things changed. I had always continued to think about Jay; I would wonder to myself how he was doing and how I thought I should call him. Of course, I never did. That Thanksgiving, we hung out A LOT. And to put it plainly, it was magical! We had both changed so much in those 7 months; I knew what I wanted and I wanted to be with Jay. He was at a freshman at UT and I was a senior at Briarcrest. We didn't know how it was going to work. But that Christmas, we got back together. Boy, I am so glad we did!
While there is still SO much more to our story, I will leave that for another occasion. Jay, I just wanna say how grateful I am that you called me up Thanksgiving in 2008. I am so blessed not only to have a man like you in my life, but to call you my best friend and my boyfriend. Your love for others and for the Lord pushes me to love more. I love your loud personality, even though it sometimes drives me crazy. I love how you can talk to a wall and not be bored. I love how you make me laugh. I love just hanging out and being goofy. I love how you are passionate about things. I love how intelligent you are, it's really sexy. I just love you, Jaybird. Never forget it!
