When in Rome

like chickens with our heads cut off.. that's how i've felt the past 2 days. we've been in Rome the past 3 days and it was just wonderfullll! on friday, we had a scavenger hunt that we had to do. we had to travel around rome by ourselves. i was with a group of about 7 or so and we rocked the scavenger hunt. the city is not that confusing once you walk around it for a while. after the scavenger hunt, we went to this little mexican restaurant that was in the Circo Massimo(?). it was the most delicious chicken taco i've ever had. or maybe i'm just sick of pizza and pasta. we all had the best time, making friends with our Polish waiter. it was quite the adventure. we stayed in this cute little B&B in Monti, a cute area of Rome. squeezing five girls in that little room was a challenge, but we made it work.

our day off was today and while it was exhausting, we had the best time. Cassie, Leah, Kate, and i just walked around rome, shopping and going into little cafes. the meals here are my favorite. normal meals around here take at least 1 1/2-2 hours. i love just sitting and talking, even after everyone is done. i love the great conversations that we have and the time we had. the conversations over these long meals i will never forget. we even had the greatest conversations over Mcdonalds, which i ate twice this weekend.. i have no regrets.

while we were shopping, we got gelato, found a bar that sold Dr. Pepper [Cassie can't live without it], and made our way around Rome on our own. it was a successful weekend in rome and i could not change a thing. i am blessed for the people i am with and blessed for the lessons i am learning.

here is a list of a few places we went, even though i do not have pictures from all of them:
Piazza di Spagna
Piazza Colonna
Trevi Fountain
Pantheon
Campo de Fiori
Piazza Venezia
Piazza del Popolo
and lootsss more

kappa D meets Rome
The beautiful and historic Coliseum
not a bad view

you think they are identical, but they are not. one has a hexagon dome and one has a pentagon one (i think)

hahahah tourists.

insert big sigh
the Roman Forum
Arch of Septimus Serverus
Arch of Titus

i've learned a lot about my own personality and how i deal in stressful situations. my devotion last night was just about that. God does know how to speak to us if we just listen. it said, "crises always reveal character." #wow. punch to my gut, the Lord was talking straight to me. i believe the Lord is telling me something everyday and while it's hard not to follow the way i've always been, i will change and it will be for the better.
